On Saturday, 21st March 2026, the Leavenheath 1st Scouts and the Leavenheath Village Hall Committee hosted their inaugural Jumble Sale. The event had a unique twist compared to typical jumble sales – upon entry, customers received plastic carrier bags which they could fill with as many clothes as they could comfortably fit. At checkout, each filled bag cost just £1 – what a bargain!
We were truly astonished by the volume of donations we received, including not just clothes but also games, shoes, toys, and jewellery (which were sold separately from the clothing). Your generosity was overwhelming!
When the doors opened at 2pm on Saturday, we were thrilled to see customers eagerly lined up, ready to shop! Our Leavenheath Scouts did a fantastic job providing refreshments to customers, while quick-thinking volunteers arranged chairs and tables in the village hall garden for shoppers to relax and recharge after their purchases!
We successfully raised just over £1,250, which will be divided equally between the Scouts and the Village Hall Charity! This was a tremendous success, and we owe many thanks to:
Everyone who donated items for us to sell
Each & every volunteer from the Scouts, the village hall committee, friends, family, and local villagers – you all worked tirelessly on Friday 20th AND Saturday 21st to organize the hall, sort and display all the donations for sale and serve our customers – you were amazing!
To all our wonderful customers who came from near and far to support our cause – we are incredibly grateful!
